Day 4: Humanity

“You see,” said Aslan. “They will not let us help them. They have chosen cunning instead of belief....."
-The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

Wind the clocks
 and roll the dice
Tell the tales
 of Men and Mice

Shall we coat our tongues with iron?
Throw the books upon the fire
paint The Box with seismic lines
Lock away the Love and Ire.

We: sagacious
now surmise
There is no truth
There are no lies

If The System's god,
and God is dead
then we've no place to lay our head

Murm'ring, muttering,
philosophic rules
Oh that I were a child,
for all men are fools

Day 2: A Psalm

Today is the day
The Lord has made
I will turn my face to the sun

His name is written
On every drop of dew
And each blade of grass
Carved in stone, inscribed in glass

Let’s run together
Greener pastures,
Cerulean skies
Tranquil eyes
When your life is not your own

He is my shepherd,
I am resting,
I am drinking in
The light

Listen to this and watch the sunrise, and tell me you don't come out with a similar poem:

Iron April

Watch the iron robins sleep,
while the ocean bends and creaks.
Oil the trees and honey bees,
to carry on mechanically.

Through the molten centuries,
the world is weary of this pace.
The heavens, brass, seem ever pass,
by the cursed human race.

Hand me, then, the bloodborne key.
I've seen the green beyond the gate.
Reveal in me, the brilliancy,
while all creation groans and waits.

Romans 8:19-23
"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now."

Nos+gummy worms=enlightenment

About a week ago, we found a shoeless bum wandering on the side of the road. We thought he was cute and took him home. I think it helped that he was our cousin who had hitchhiked from Oregon to Kansas City as a surprise.
During his trip I introduced him to my way of life: nos and sour gummy worms. I have a vision to spread this across the world, until every person experiences the wonders of a sugar and caffeine induced high.
Process:

  • Pretend to be a bird
  • Open the Nos
  • dip the worm
  • eat the dipped worm and drink the nos simultaneously while imagining yourself to be in a jungle
  • repeat

Brushing my Bed Head Morning Mind

The strings of my mind,
are a tangled mess.
Complicated, irritated,
unsettled, unrest.

Each thought travels its windy way,
on roundabouts and hurricanes.
Knotted bows, knitted tights.
fuss and fluff and fleeting fights.

Come and smooth my thorny thoughts,
with your speckled wide-tooth comb.
Calm me to my balmy bones.

Each string in linear pairs,
harmonizing together.
Strummed by the hand of God.
Humming with pleasure.

I'll trade my Spaghetti
for
Guitar Strings

Winds of Change

This Febuary has brought strange, warm, foggy weather. This evening, a wind blew in the door that sent shivers down my spine.

Close your eyes and smell the wind,
in the dark the stars descend.

The flattened clouds go racing by,
on the shadowed, navy-sky.
And the mellow, yellow, moon,
...is an unblinking eye

It's almost real tonight,
I can taste the sigh.
Standing on the brink at last,
looking through the flowing glass.

One day, the whisper will be a Shout!
sudden, without warning.
First star on the right and
Straight on till morning.

My Ocean and Me

Clean lines,
Blowing sand.
I love the way
you stand

Washed clean,
in the salty sea
Wild and solid
Warm and free

Bleached by the Sun,
wonderful one...
Your eyes are dragon-green
-glittering-

Let's lie forever,
and soak up the light,
You, me and the
goldfish

You can build the fire,
embers glowing deep
And I will sing
 you
to
Sleep
