It was summer solstice
and a full moon
The longest day, the brightest night,
The darkest blood was leaving you
And you were leaving me.
I felt nothing,
I felt everything.
The air leaving my lungs made no sound,
but inside my mind I was screaming
Don't leave me

July 2016
Are we all
Slaves to the pain
Helpless against its current
Washed up on the shore
Stripped, again, of everything.
Are we destined to be lost,
Specks of light in a night sky
Drifting further and further into
The void
God, I have felt you,
On nights when the stars are so close they almost kiss me.
God I have seen you,
In the richness of the earth and the sweeping branches of the trees
I think that I've tasted you,
In the salt on my lips
And the sand in my teeth
Washed up to shore
Tell me I'm not alone
