Day 10: Static

I've got nothing but a blank page.
disconnection breeds my discontent.
Cyclical despair fights my attempts
to break the moldy mold.

Shout it out!
I can't hear your voice
over the endless, silent noise.
Friendless on the crowded shores.

Would you draw the yew-bow?
When the river runs slow.
Strike the heart of winter's wolf,
break the bonds upon the earth.

Link by link upon my chain,
day by day upon my pain.
I walk the line, of oak and pine,
until the scent can purge my mind.

Day 9: Golden Days

We were young and army-strong,
The golden days were sleepy-long.
Strawberry Lips
and
Fearless Blue

Sitting on the sunny stairs,
building castles in the air.
Our hearts were bound,
Our hope was found.
And time can never change the sound.

But you turned Red and I was Gold,
in the windy fall that made us old.
We traded innocent for wise.

I know I gave you winterwounds,
with snow and frost as my perfume.
But you still held me gently,ever-so-tight.

Empty it may be, my dear,
But love will cast away the fear.
Doors may close, and seasons pass,
but friendship binds us,
present....past....

Day 7: The Struggle

Love and war,
blood and gore
I cannot find the holy cure
Gridless...Godless
Helpless...Hopeless

I have seen it all
empire buildings fall
Cynicism, atheism
bitterness and burning gall

Tired of hearing angry men
pretend to speak in lines
tired of hearing hippies
who are tired of hearing lies

And perhaps I'm just a bug,
who shakes his fist at The Machine
Who is merely trying to...
keep its windshield clean.

How I wish for wrong and right,
shades of gray
against my skin
Nothing true in sight.

So I'll stay up all night
and watch
the
sunrise

Day 5: Missouri Love

I saw a man
down by the river
sitting on the greengrowing bank

The heat pressed
against my skin
As the crickets
shouted in my ears

So I sat with him awhile
He had a bearded smile...
And the muddy water
      rolled by

Day 4: Humanity

“You see,” said Aslan. “They will not let us help them. They have chosen cunning instead of belief....."
-The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis

Wind the clocks
 and roll the dice
Tell the tales
 of Men and Mice

Shall we coat our tongues with iron?
Throw the books upon the fire
paint The Box with seismic lines
Lock away the Love and Ire.

We: sagacious
now surmise
There is no truth
There are no lies

If The System's god,
and God is dead
then we've no place to lay our head

Murm'ring, muttering,
philosophic rules
Oh that I were a child,
for all men are fools

Day 2: A Psalm

Today is the day
The Lord has made
I will turn my face to the sun

His name is written
On every drop of dew
And each blade of grass
Carved in stone, inscribed in glass

Let’s run together
Greener pastures,
Cerulean skies
Tranquil eyes
When your life is not your own

He is my shepherd,
I am resting,
I am drinking in
The light

Listen to this and watch the sunrise, and tell me you don't come out with a similar poem:
